One of the reasons that thousands of people visit Dufftown each year is that the town lies at the heart of the World Famous "Whisky Trail".

The town was founded in 1817 and is perhaps best known for it's malt whiskies including the world famous Glenfiddich.

Dufftown also hosts two Whisky Festivals every year which attract 1000's of visitors to the area, many of whom come to visit distilleries not normally open to the public and to sample their wares!
