Welcome to Moray Cottages ..

A Luxury Barn Conversion in the heart of Scotlands Malt Whisky Country.

The old barn, which once housed a mill, has been tastefully converted into two luxury cottages to provide the highest possible standard in self catering and is graded 4 Star by Visit Scotland.

With an elevation of 1000 feet above sea level and more than half a mile from the nearest road, the cottages stand at the end of a well made track completely surrounded by farmland and have glorious views. At night, forget the light pollution of modern towns and enjoy the stars!

Inside the cottages we have aimed to provide space and comfort. Unlike some cottages that say "sleeps 5" but have limited seating in the living room, both cottages have masses of living space with ample room for you and your guests.

The kitchens are fully fitted with all the conveniences of your own home.

Both cottages have

  • Oil fired central heating

  • Fully fitted and equipped kitchens

  • Open log fires

  • TV; DVD, Freeview and WiFi

  • Electric blankets

  • Double glazing

  • Enclosed gardens & great views

  • Garden tables and barbeques

  • Separate access and parking for 2 cars

Also, included in the weekly rental is

  • Electricity

  • Central heating

  • All bed linen & towels, toilet rolls

  • Logs & peat for the Open fire

  • Initial supplies of milk, coffee, tea, sugar, salt/pepper, mixed herbs, dishwasher & washing machine detergent, cling film & foil.

  • Some "welcome treats!"

We also offer "Low occupancy" discounts of 10% if the booking is just for a couple.

With it's cosy living room and open log fire, spacious fully equipped kitchen, and generous comfortable bedrooms, Stable cottage is ideal for a couple or family of 4.

The cottage has a family shower room and WC upstairs. There is also a downstairs WC with storage space.

Having been open since Dec 2005, we have strived to ensure that our guests have the best self catering holiday possible. Nowadays over 35% of our bookings are from returning guests!

Just a few of the comments from our recent guests.

Coming from London we're more used to the sound of sirens. How lovely to escape and take in the views and peace & quiet.

So many whiskies... so little time!

Kathleen & Mark, Croydon May 09

A fantastic snowy Christmas - we couldn't have been more comfortable. The dogs loved the fire.

Joyce & Peter. Nth Yorks Dec 09

Our 3rd visit to this lovely cottage. The fact that we keep returning says a lot for Fiona & Roberts hospitality and of course the beautiful countryside & beaches.

Erica & John, Berwickshire Sept 10

What can we say that's not been said before? The cottage is wonderful with every facility & comfort

Mike & Eileen, Cumbria March 10

What can we say? Wow.. We had such a warm welcome that made us feel at home straight away. The added special touches are definitely a welcome bonus - it's no wonder that so many guests return! You can never be sure how "dog friendly" a place is until you stay but our stay here with the dogs has been fantastic. Super facilities, super garden and wonderful hosts - what more can you ask for?

Tracey & Colin, Somerset, Aug 10
