Of course, right on your doorstep is Dufftown and Speyside - Scotland's Malt Whisky capital with its world famous distilleries.

South West of the cottages are the Cairngorms, and the National Park. A vast area of accessible wilderness where you can enjoy unspoilt landscapes and superb wildlife. In the winter this becomes a veritable winter wonderland with 2 ski centres.

To the South East is Royal Deeside where you can visit the Queens castle at Balmoral and the busy city of Aberdeen.

Moray is bounded in the North by the Moray Firth, home of the Moray Firth Bottlenose Dolphins. This coastline has some fabulous beaches which, even in the summer, are almost empty. It's a haven for lovers of long walks, wildlife and sea anglers.

To the West is the "Great Glen", home of Loch Ness with the charming city of Inverness at its head. Here you'll find great shopping and Inverness is also gateway to the North Highlands and the west coast.

There are also many local museums reflecting the local history and rich maritime heritage of the area. Many have free admission!
